This webinar will explore the concept of health equity and its application in conduct processes. Participants will learn about the importance of considering health disparities and social determinants of health when addressing conduct issues. The webinar will also provide practical strategies for promoting health equity in the conduct process.

This session is approved to offer CE credits for Student Affairs Educator Certification. This session will offer 1 CE for Student Conduct Speciality or Core (Social Justice & Inclusion).  The code is CSAEd-SC-56 or CSAEd-168.

Presenter Bios

Dr. Shawnté M. Elbert (She/Her/Hers) Dr. Shawnté M. Elbert, EdD, is a trailblazing figure with 18 years in college health and wellness. Rising from health educator to senior administrator, she champions health equity, policy development, and mentorship for historically marginalized students. Co-owner of Sister WELLS, she resides in Columbus, OH, advocating for student well-being and fostering leadership development. Contact: drshawnteelbert@gmail.com.

Dr. Alicia Battle (She/Her/Hers) Dr. Alicia Battle, a public health educator with nearly 30 years of experience, champions equity-focused programming for holistic success. She's led wellness initiatives, mentoring programs, and community partnerships at institutions like the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine and Tulane University. Currently, as the Director of the Teaching Health Center at Access Health Louisiana, she continues her lifelong commitment to closing equity gaps in public health and fostering community engagement. Dr. Sherrá M. Watkins (She/Her/Hers) Sherrá Watkins, PhD, a distinguished clinical psychotherapist and certified coach, brings a decade of expertise to her role as Associate VP of Student Health and Wellness at the University of Utah. With a Doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Counseling & Administration from East Carolina University, she champions access to mental health services for marginalized groups. Recognized by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and the ECU Leadership Awards' 40 under 40, Watkins is an acclaimed keynote speaker and author of "Healing – In Review."
