Description

ASCA’s Sexual Misconduct Institute (SMI) is back!

SMI returns this year with a two-day, in-person intensive program designed to foster collaboration and engagement among participants of all experience and educational levels. Taking place at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, SMI features two pathways:

  • The Investigator Pathway features an interactive, skills-based training on serving as an investigator for Title IX and sexual misconduct cases. Attendees who complete this track will receive an Investigator: Level 1 certification. Level 1 recipients will be able to pursue an Investigator: Level 2 certification at future ASCA events.

  • The Advanced Practitioner Pathway focuses on the major intersections of Title IX with other regulatory and legal compliance areas such as the Clery Act, the ADA, and the First Amendment. Attendees can expect a seminar-style approach that encourages professional development through collaborative learning.

This year's ASCA Sexual Misconduct Institute (SMI) will take place from October 12 - 14, 2025.

**Additional information about the Institute, including more detailed descriptions of the two tracks, can be located at: https://ascatitleix.com.**
