ASCA’s Sexual Misconduct Institute (SMI) is back!
The 2026 Sexual Misconduct Institute will take place from November 11 - 13, 2026, at the ASCA offices at One Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C.!
This year's SMI features two pathways:
- The Investigator Pathway features an interactive, skills-based approach to the essentials of investigating Title IX and sexual misconduct cases.
- The Decision-Maker and Appeals Pathway provides a practical, scenario-driven curriculum designed to strengthen participants’ ability to evaluate evidence, assess credibility, and issue well‑reasoned determinations.

Hotel
A limited room block has been secured at the following hotel, which is approximately 0.2 miles from the Institute location. The rate of $229/night + taxes and fees includes breakfast. Parking for hotel guests is available at a discounted rate of $35/night.

To make a reservation in the room block, please call 1-888-236-2427 and reference the Event Code "ASCA SMI." The discounted rate is not available through the online booking process. The group rate is available until October 10, 2026 or until the block is full, whichever occurs earlier.
Building Access
The Institute will occur in The National Center for Higher Education building, located on the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Dupont Circle (1 Dupont Circle NW). NCHE is a secure building. Therefore, all participants must be registered in advance of the Institute. On site/walk up registration will not be possible. In addition, participants may be asked to present identification upon entry to the building.
Metro Directions
Take the Metro red line to Dupont Circle Metrorail station.
Take the Dupont Circle South exit (not the Q Street exit) to 19th Street.
At the top of the escalator, turn right, cross 19th Street, then cross New Hampshire Avenue.
The Institute will be held in the National Center for Higher Education building on the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Dupont Circle.
Parking
We advise taking the Metro to the Institute at 1 Dupont Circle. For participants who are driving, garage parking is available at several locations nearby and metered parking is available on the streets.
