Position Description

The Student Conduct Officer will review and investigate alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct; hold administrative hearings and determine sanctions as necessary; consult with faculty and staff on civility and classroom behavior; and manage individual and student organization conduct cases. 

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in higher education, student affairs, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 two years of professional work experience in higher education, social work, or related field.

  • General experience with case management involving behavior, conduct, care, or crisis intervention.

  • Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary due process in higher education, the Clery Act, Title IX, FERPA, and First Amendment rights at public institutions of higher education.

  • Experience working in high stress situations when making decisions (such as with angry, frustrated or unpredictable individuals), and demonstrated ability to diffuse, problem-solve, and respond effectively to stressful/sensitive situations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including the ability to create/prepare accurate, clear, concise, grammatically correct documents/reports for publication.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with case management in a higher education setting involving student conduct, student care, or crisis intervention.

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, student development in higher education.

  • Experience in assessment, learning outcomes, and strategic planning in higher education.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced setting that handles urgent situations concerning student well-being.

  • Experience analyzing data and reporting trends in writing and through data visualization.

  • Experience in addressing alcohol/drug abuse, threats, disruptions, disorderly conduct, and other conduct/standards violations.

  • Experience with or knowledge of student conduct case management software or other student databases. Additional consideration may be given to applicants with proficiency with Maxient (case management database software), EAB’s Navigate360, or similar software systems.

Salary Information: $45,999.96 - $51,999.96
