Position Description

The Senior Associate Director has administrative responsibility for monitoring the policies and procedures of the University student conduct system and for administering the Student Code of Conduct. The Senior Associate Director will aid the Associate Dean of Students/Director of OSRR in the management of the office’s day-to-day operations, oversee organizational misconduct, and aid in the adjudication of Title IX cases.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience at the post-secondary level
  • A demonstrated understanding of student development and counseling theories and the ability to apply theory in practice in a university setting is necessary.
  • An understanding and experience working with cases involving Title IX and organizational misconduct.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large-scale and complex investigations involving hazing, drug distribution, alcohol and physical assaults.
  • Knowledge of legal issues in higher education.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience interacting with the public, attorneys, parents, students, staff, and faculty.
  • Knowledge of federal laws related to Clery, Hazing, Title IX, and VAWA.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Minimum of five years of experience in student conduct administration or closely related field.
  • An ability to manage and investigate cases involving individuals, fraternities and sororities, club and intramural sports teams, student organizations, and athletics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, organizational and administrative skills, written/verbal/interpersonal communications skills, team-building skills.
  • Ability to build positive and effective relationships across the campus and community.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple competing priorities, and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Completion of training or continuing education through the ASCA Gehring Training Institute, Association of Student Conduct Administration (ASCA), the SUNY Student Conduct Institute (SSCI), Hazing Prevention Certification through Campuspeak, Behavioral Intervention or Threat Assessment training, or a related training or continuing education.
  • Experience working with Maxient or a student conduct database system.
  • Familiarity with UNC system policies such as 700.4.1, 700.4.1.1®, 700.4.4., and NC General Statutes § 116-40.11.

Salary Information: $80,000 - $84,187
