Position Description
The Director of Student Compliance, reporting to the Senior Director of the Office of Compliance, manages the college-wide student conduct system. This includes overseeing the student code of conduct, general rules and guidelines, the Title IX process for students, academic integrity, and the Behavior Intervention Team. This role requires a strong understanding of student development, legal compliance, and best practices in higher education to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
This role provides leadership in managing institutional risk, adjudicating student conduct cases, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. As the subject matter expert in student conduct and academic integrity, the Director enforces the Student Code of Conduct, supervises staff, and ensures efficient case flow management.
Collaborate with the Department of Risk Management by receiving guidance and direction on compliance standards and institutional risk mitigation strategies related to student policies and procedures. The Director chairs the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), coordinating responses to students of concern and liaising with faculty, staff, and students. They manage the budget, oversee staff hiring and development, and collaborate with campus departments to ensure effective communication and implementation of conduct procedures. Additionally, the Director develops and delivers training, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and serves as the Student Title IX Coordinator.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant professional conduct or compliance work experience.
- Specialized training or experience in Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA, VAWA, DAAPP, or ADA compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing student conduct systems and handling complex cases involving suspension or expulsion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with student affairs.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) or advanced degree in law from a regionally accredited institution.
- Five or more years of experience in student affairs or conduct administration.
- Experience supervising staff, managing large caseloads, and interpreting legal standards related to student conduct and campus safety.
Salary Information: New Hire Starting Pay: $76,974 - $85,343
