
Director of Community Standards

Position Description
The Director of Community Standards provides comprehensive leadership for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s community standards system and alternative dispute resolution programs. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and interpretation of student conduct policies, ensuring alignment with university guidelines and nationally recognized best practices. As a key liaison within the campus community, the Director promotes a culture of accountability, integrity, and respect, while advancing student success, academic achievement, and retention. Additionally, the Director plays a strategic role in supporting the university’s goals by fostering student persistence and on-time graduation.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in student development, counseling or related field
- EXPERIENCE: Over five years of experience in student conduct with extensive understanding of best practices for Student Conduct through ASCA.
- OTHER: Flexible schedule that allows for working evening and weekend work. Some local, regional and national travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant community standards experience.
- Appropriate training or experience in legal issues pertaining to student conduct through ASCA
- Attendance and participation in the ASCA Gehring Academy.
- Experience in mediation and restorative justice principles and processes
- Knowledge and usage experience with computers, Microsoft Word, Adobe Suite, and Maxient programs is desired.
