Position Description
Position Summary
The associate director of health & safety is responsible for leading the Fraternity’s investigation processes, helping to ensure a safe, values-based experience for all members. This position assists in managing student conduct inquiries, supports health and safety-focused chapter officers, and assists in the administration of departmental processes and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Investigations & Accountability
- Manage investigations into alleged violations of Fraternity and/or university policy, including but not limited to hazing, alcohol/drug misuse, sexual misconduct, and disruptive behavior
- Compile summaries and reports summarizing investigation findings and policy violation(s)
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive records of all investigations, membership reviews, and associated information
- Assist in the Fraternity's crisis response efforts related to conduct incidents, ensuring appropriate protocols are followed and support resources are provided
Chapter Support & Education
- Develop and provide training for for chapter sergeant-at-arms and standards boards to strengthen local self-governance and peer accountability structures
- Support chapters in understanding and applying event planning policies and risk management protocols
- Support chapter leaders in navigating the event notification process and new chapter event progression plans
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety Department to advance initiatives aligned with organizational goals and member well-being
- Assist in managing national Health & Safety Certification requirements, track chapter completion, and determine departmental follow-up
- Support significant projects as assigned, including, but not limited to National Convention, National Day of Giving/Founders’ Day Challenge, National Day of Service, communications review, etc.
Position Requirements
- Strong knowledge of higher education and fraternity conduct policies and procedures, with direct experience in student conduct, student affairs, or fraternity/sorority headquarters roles
- Demonstrated experience leading investigations related to student conduct/policy violations
- Knowledge of risk mitigation and prevention best practices related to topics such as hazing, substance misuse, and sexual misconduct
- Experience developing and facilitating educational programs
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and digital communication with varied audiences
- Experience working with members and volunteers in membership-based organizations or student leadership environments
- Ability to use relevant productivity tools and platforms, including Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
- 4+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Master’s degree or equivalent certifications/experience preferred
Salary Information: $55,000.00
