Position Description
Albion College invites applications for the Assistant Director of Community Living and Student Conduct position. This position reports directly to the Director for Community Living and Student Conduct (the Director), the Assistant Director is responsible for managing the Student Conduct process and serves as the central point person in Community Living for student and parent engagement. This position will educate the campus community about the student conduct and academic integrity processes. The Assistant Director will schedule Student Conduct Hearing meetings as well as serve as a Hearing officer as needed. This position will serve as the Central Office primary point person in assessing and responding to student and parent concerns. The Assistant Director must appreciate and support the liberal arts philosophy and education. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. The Assistant Director will actively promote belonging and mattering through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts to various students, faculty, and staff (e.g. historically under-represented, first generation, undocumented and DACA students, LGBTQ students).
FLSA Classification: Salaried / Exempt / Administrative & Executive
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of successful higher education experience that demonstrates increased levels of responsibility is required preferably in a complex, detail-oriented, confidential, and fast paced work environment.
- Demonstrated professional experience with the student conduct process in a college or university setting.
- Experience drafting and composing professional documents including correspondence, policies, manuals, pamphlets and brochures preferred.
- Experience in directing, organizing, and prioritizing workload to meet required deadlines and department objectives preferred.
