Student Housing Services is looking for our next Assistant Director of Residential Student Conduct. This role is key to supporting our residential community, promoting accountability, and helping students learn and grow through the conduct process.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Counseling, Communication, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Social Work or a related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for students' rights and responsibilities, student development and/or student conduct; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in students' rights and responsibilities, student development and/or student conduct as demonstrated by the broad understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, theories, and systems associated with students' rights and responsibilities, student development and/or student conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide-ranging complex problems through creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the issues and resolve the problems in a practical, innovative, and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally, and by preparing reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and electronic record-keeping system.
- If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student conduct due process associated with the best practices for student rights and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of college student development theory and restorative justice practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information and files containing confidential student information.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy provisions to situations consistently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations of varied backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work with details and prepare and maintain comprehensive records.
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations (informal and formal complaints).
- Experience in providing services to college students.
- Demonstrated experience with student conduct processes.
- Demonstrated experience advising students on university processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.
- Experience using design programs like Canva, Adobe, Photoshop, MailChimp, etc., to create marketing materials, handouts, and graphics.
- Demonstrated understanding student conduct's role at a large, complex institution.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extreme tact, diplomacy, initiative, sound judgment, and critical thinking.
- May work after normal business hours, including weekends and/or holidays, as needed.
- Ability to use a company-issued cell phone to maintain timely communication.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, Student Affairs/Higher Education, Social Work or other related field.
- Experience working in university student housing or residential life programs.
- Experience with the University of Hawai'i programs, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated organization and project coordination skills.
- Knowledgeable of and maintains FERPA standards of privacy and confidentiality.
