Authentically and Thoughtfully Celebrating Juneteenth

Special thanks to Past President Dr. Patience Byrant and Director of Equity and Inclusion Dr. Stephanie Wright for input and resources.

  1. Shop at Black owned businesses online and in your community: The Importance of Black Owned Businesses
  1. Look for celebrations in your community and support them by being present physically and by being financially engaged (e.g., purchase from vendors at the event, donate money to organizers)
  1. Immerse yourself in art and media from Black creators, especially art and media celebrating Black joy
  1. Reflect on ways that you personally and professionally can contribute to Black liberation, and actively engage in ongoing work to address systemic racism
