Collegiate men are overrepresented in student conduct systems due to higher engagement in high-risk behaviors linked to toxic masculinity. This session explores findings from a phenomenological study of 16 student conduct professionals, highlighting eight key themes and an emerging framework for using restorative justice with male students.

Presenter Bio:

Max Sullivan, Ph.D. (He/Him) is a Consultant at TNG with over 10 years of experience in higher education, specializing in student conduct, Title IX, and risk management. He has expertise in policy development, investigations, case management, behavioral intervention, and Clery. Max is passionate about creating safer, more equitable environments through restorative justice practices and Title IX compliance.

Before joining TNG, Max served as Executive Director of Student Accountability, Safety, & Restorative Practices and Title IX Co-Coordinator at the University of Mount Union, managing the student conduct system and Campus Security.

Max holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Wittenberg University, an M.S.E. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Dayton, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from the University of Dayton.
