The Myth of Stud. Cond,: An Org. Analysis to Faculty Perception & Response to Stud. Behavior - 2024
Ongoing research often explores the impact of student behavior and institutional responses to such situations; however, an investigation into how such concepts permeate throughout organizations lacks scholarly attention. Dr. Kott’s study, The Myth of Student Conduct, examined how organizational culture, external pressures, and internal tensions shape meaning-making and actions around student behavior and student conduct. Specifically, this study explored how such concepts are understood by faculty and imbued within a community college organization. Revealing unique differences between part-time and full-time faculty ideas, yet similar enactments, findings reveal implications for practice, policy, and research.
