Navigating Your First Year in Student Conduct

Description

Part of Careers in Student Affairs Month! This session explores what it really takes to move from studying student conduct to practicing it. Attendees will learn core competencies, discuss common ethical dilemmas, and reflect on the transition from student to professional with their peers. We will end with a live Q&A from a pair of early career professionals.

Presenters

Jalen Stolfo (He/Him)
Jalen is a new professional who is starting his first full-time role in a conduct office after spending two years as a graduate assistant. Previously, he has worked in other student affairs roles coordinating orientation programs and providing administrative support. Jalen has a master's degree in Student Affairs from the University of Maryland.Contact: jalens@umd.edu 

Tayla Robinson
Tayla has been working with Columbia University's Office of Student Conduct for more than 2 years. She has prior conduct experience with two other institutions and has a background in the legal field. Tayla has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. Contact: tr2795@columbia.edu
