Part of the ASCA Summer School Series! As Gen Z professionals enter the workforce, student affairs and conduct offices are experiencing a generational shift that brings fresh perspectives and new challenges. This session will explore best practices for training and supporting Gen Z professionals in the field of student conduct and affairs. We will discuss the unique characteristics of Gen Z, their expectations for work-life balance, communication styles, and how to leverage their tech-savvy nature to enhance their effectiveness in managing student conduct. The session will provide actionable insights for supervisors and trainers to bridge generational gaps and create a collaborative, innovative work environment.

Learning Outcomes:

Presenter Information & Bio:

Ron Alexander, (He/Him/His), Ron is a seasoned Student Affairs professional with over 12 years of experience in Residence Life, Title IX, Community Standards, and Students of Concern. He currently serves as the Associate Director for Community Standards and Deputy Title IX Investigator at Pace University, where he leads student conduct processes and the CARE/First-Alert Team.

An active ASCA member, Ron is Parliamentarian on the Board and has served as SC 101 Faculty. He is also a Gehring Academy alum, and engaged community leader, Ron has held roles at Northwestern and Loyola University, and serves on the Board for the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association. Outside of work, he’s a competitive flag football player and dedicated member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Ron holds a B.A. in Political Science (Georgia State) and an M.Ed. (University of Georgia) and is also pursuing a second master’s in Mental Health Counseling.Contact: ralexander@pace.edu
