Brought to you by the ASCA Conflict Resolution Community of Practice! Conflict is inevitable; escalation is not. This session presents the Holistic Conflict Management Framework, a structured learning system that teaches conflict literacy before enforcement. Participants will explore how institutions can reduce administrative burden, strengthen student accountability, and embed preventive learning into conduct, housing, and academic environments.

Learning Outcomes:

• Participants will be able to describe how conflict literacy—including emotional regulation, conflict style awareness, and de-escalation skills—can reduce preventable conduct escalation and support more effective student accountability practices.
• Participants will learn strategies for integrating conflict literacy education into existing institutional structures such as first-year seminars, residence life training, and leadership development programs.

Presenter Information & Bio:

Dr. Dax Boatwright

Dr. Dax Boatwright is the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution at Florida Atlantic University, where he leads initiatives that integrate conflict management into student conduct practice. He developed the Holistic Conflict Management Framework (HCMF), a peer-reviewed learning system recognized with the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA) Innovation Award in 2026. His work focuses on equipping students with emotional intelligence, conflict style awareness, and de-escalation skills to reduce preventable conduct escalation and strengthen accountability across campus communities. Dr. Boatwright has presented nationally on conflict management and campus safety. His scholarship and practice center on expanding student conduct systems from reactive enforcement models into scalable, prevention-based educational frameworks. Contact: dboatwright@fau.edu
