Part of our Conference Highlights Series! Learn practical, fair, and effective strategies for investigating AI-related academic misconduct. Using real case examples and hands-on demonstrations, this session explores how to identify signs of AI generation, analyze version histories, and document findings while maintaining integrity, consistency, and transparency in the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and student work.

Learning Outcomes:

Attendees will identify indicators of potential AI-generated writing using linguistic, stylistic, and content-based analysis techniques.
Attendees will apply investigative tools, such as Google Docs version history, metadata review, and source verification, to evaluate suspected AI use.
Attendees will develop fair and consistent documentation and communication practices for addressing AI-related academic integrity cases.

Presenter Information & Bio:

Kyrsti Wyatt (She/Her)

Kyrsti Wyatt is an investigations and compliance leader with over a decade of experience in higher education and public service. She currently serves as Assistant Director at Louisiana State University, where she leads and mentors investigative teams across eight campuses and oversees large-scale academic, behavioral, and organizational misconduct investigations. Kyrsti’s has previously held leadership roles at Boise State University and Western Carolina University and brings a background in psychology and forensic psychology to her work. Kyrsti is passionate about translating complex regulatory requirements into human-centered practices that support equitable and inclusive campus environments. When she isn't working, you are likely to find Kyrsti cheering her daughter on at All-Star Cheerleading competitions, on a cruise, or at a Disney park anywhere in the world!
